The path of air from the mouth and nose to the lungs is called the respiratory tract, and to the throat and glottis is called the upper respiratory tract. "Cold" is inflammation of the upper respiratory tract caused by viruses and bacterial infections.
Influenza is an infectious disease contracted by infecting "influenza viruses". An infected person spreads the viruses in the air by coughing, sneezing, and other ways, and the other persons infect by inhaling the air.
Influenza usually prevails from autumn to early spring, but sometimes it also prevails in spring and summer.
The symptoms of influenza include sudden high fevers, headaches, arthralgia, muscle pain, sore throats, coughs, runny nose, etc. Stronger symptoms appear than normal colds.
It often causes bronchitis, pneumonia, etc., and leads to severe symptoms.
When influenza is prevalent, it involves enormous numbers of people from children to the elderly in a short period of time, unlike ordinary colds.
Headaches include chronic headaches, migraine, tension headaches, and cluster headaches, and so on.
Migraine is a paroxysmal headache with pulsating pain on one side of the head with the pulse of the heart.
Women in her 20s to 40s prone to have migraine, and it may cause nausea and vomiting. Currently, about 8% of Japanese are suffering from migraine.
A tension headache is a headache coming from a state of tension caused by stiff shoulders or neck, and stress.
This headache is a heavy tightening headache lasting for a long time.
It is said that middle-aged and older people prone to have it. People may develop tension headaches when they are unstable or tense in daily life.
Lack of exercise also cause this headache, and if it becomes chronic, some patients complain of a sense like migraine.
A cough (cough reflex) is a defensive reaction of the body to discharge viruses and foreign bodies entered from the outside, and secretions of the throat and trachea. Many of that are caused by viral infections and allergic reactions.
Some coughs last for a few days, while other chronic coughs last for more than a few weeks. However, if coughs last for more than 2 weeks, another disease is suspected.

Insomnia is a state of decreased quality of sleep, such as having difficulty to sleep, shallow sleep, repeated waking up, no feeling of asleep, and so on.

Anemia is a disease that the hemoglobin level in blood decreases, and it causes symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, and dizziness.
Hemoglobin is contained in erythrocytes, and it combines with oxygen to transport oxygen into the body.

It is said that normal blood pressure is that systolic blood pressure is less than 120 mmHg and diastolic pressure is less than 80 mmHg. However, hypertension is a condition to continue that systolic blood pressure is 140 mmHg or more, and diastolic pressure is 90 mmHg or more.
